Yes, arts and crafts specialists are available to provide individual or group instruction in woodworking, ceramics, framing, and more.

Can I just buy something that somebody else made?

Yes, most bases offer items for resale and many bases offer annual Arts & Crafts fairs. Check with your local center for details.

What types of equipment can I use at the Wood Hobby Shop?

Arts & Crafts Centers with a Wood Hobby Shop have a wide variety of woodworking equipment and tools available, including:

  • Table, radial, and miter saws
  • Drill presses
  • Lathes
  • Planers
  • And various other hand tools

Do I need to be certified to use wood shop and DIY framing tools?

Yes, each base has a safety class that is required prior to using machines.

Can I host a party at the Arts & Crafts Center?

Yes, some Arts & Crafts Centers have birthday parties and other functions available. Check with your local installtion for details.
