Teen Aviation

Are you interested in attending the United States Air Force Academy? Held during the first week of each June, selected teens entering their sophomore or junior year get a glimpse of life at the Academy in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. While travel to and from the Academy is not covered, most other costs are covered including lodging and meals!

Eligibility

OCONUS and CONUS Family members of:

  • Active Duty Military assigned to or living on an AF installation
  • AF Retired Military
  • AF Civilian Employees
  • Activated Air National Guard or AF Reserve
  • Joint Bases (AF lead) Active Duty, and Civilian employees

Application

The intent of the program and scheduled tours are designed to give all attendees an experience that will help them determine if aviation or the Air Force Academy is a career choice. The Air Force Teen Aviation Camp is held at the United States Air Force Academy.

  • OCONUS participants may arrive in Colorado Springs, CO on Friday, 5 Jun 15 and depart on 11 Jun 15.
  • CONUS participants arrive in Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday, 6 Jun 15 and depart on 11 Jun 15.
  • Participants driving to the Academy should arrive anytime after 1000 and before 1600 on 6 Jun 15.
  • Participants being picked up from the Academy should plan to depart anytime after 0800 on 11 Jun 15.

Cost: Lodging, meals, and activity fees are centrally funded beginning with dinner on Saturday, 6 Jun 15. Air Fare or POV costs are the responsibility of the attendee or installation. Spending money for other miscellaneous expenses is the responsibility of the participant.

Eligible Applicants: The applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • A dependent of Active Duty Military assigned to or living on an AF/JB installation, AF Retired Military, AF Civilian Employees, Air National Guard or AF Reserve who have been activated within the last 12 months.
  • Youth entering their Sophomore or Junior year in the Fall of 2015.
  • Previous Teen Aviation Camp attendees may not apply.

Submission Instructions: Please read carefully, nominations not completed properly will not be accepted.

  1. Submit completed nomination forms to your Youth Programs Director, Guard representative (if applicable), or designee to set up an interview.
  2. After the interview process has been completed, Youth Programs staff or designee will forward nominations to their respective MAJCOM or SVI representatives.
  3. AFSVA/SVPY must receive all completed applications by 15 Apr 15.
