Holloman FSS Introduces Text Alerts

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M.,  -- Wondering what to do this weekend? Need updates concerning the Child Development Center, or even the gym? Wish you could conveniently access base information through your cell phone? Well, the 49th Force Support Squadron has the perfect feature for you.

FSS personnel created a text alert system available to members of Team Holloman that keeps everyone updated about FSS programs and events on base. Launched November 1, 2015, the program will be a vital part of communication throughout the base.

"Everyone is on the go these days, but everyone has a cell phone so we think sending text alerts will be beneficial to keeping everyone up-to-date on FSS events and activities," said Lisa Bradford, 49th FSS marketing director.

Anyone can sign up to receive the text alerts. However, some events will be specific to base personnel only. Alerts will be from agencies such as the Fitness Center, Child Development Center, Youth and Teen Center, base restaurants, bars and coffee shops, entertainment, and even Outdoor Recreation.

"We hope to continue to spread the word about the text alerts in order to reach max participation from Team Holloman!  There are several categories people can sign-up for: fitness ,base events and entertainment, kid's zone, recreational events, trips & programs, food or the all-access pass, which sends alerts from all of the categories mentioned," said Bradford.  "We eventually plan to hold giveaways and contests through the text app!"

To sign up, and receive the code to activate text alerts you can visit www.hollomanfss.com, or pick up an issue of Holloman's FSS Vector Magazine.
