Coming from a state of various backgrounds and never finding a place that seemed to make me feel at home, the military was considered a last resort to an ordinary life. Leaving an economy that was struggling and a life of bad decisions brought me to the US Air Force. Joining the military showed me the commitment and sacrifices that so many had made for this country. It showed me the life that so many Americans do not know exists and the pride of doing more for the country than most people realize. Many members took the time to train me, educate me and show me that there is good and bad in this world but you can always choose to make a positive impact and change the world for the best. Now that I have surrounded myself with good people and focus on what is important to me, I can see that the Air Force stands out for taking care of its people and truly wants us all to succeed. I am grateful for the benefits I have earned and the difference it has made in my life. If only the other branches could offer the same support to its members as we do! One family, one mission and the only outcome will be success.
