Now what?

Life in the Air Force....Where to start?? When I first married my Airman First Class back in 1990 I had no idea what I was getting myself into. That first assignment in Alaska tested my will for sure! Being bounced around the world had its advantages sure, but time with our families suffered for it. Some days it was downright miserable; being stuck at home with a baby, dealing with the yard work, car maintenance, all the bills and working a full time job. This was not how I had pictured it somehow...

I am now two weeks into retired life; my husband just retired after 21 years of service. It was bittersweet, the Air Force becomes so engrained in your being that you wonder what life will be like without it. The Air Force was challenging but the difficulties we may have experienced certainly made us a stronger family and me a stronger woman. I certainly know that I could handle anything that comes my way; after all I have done it all and all over the world.

Civilian life is just beginning and I am hoping that I will love it as much as I loved being a military wife.
