Destination: Paradise

My Air Force experience has been amazing! My wife and I are both on Active Duty and never run out of stories to tell. We are currently stationed at Andersen AFB in Guam. This is a truly unique assignment. Living the “Island Life” has been a dream of mine since I was a child. The idea of waking up in the morning and picking a fresh coconut as the sun rises on a scene most have only seen on a post card is amazing. That is exactly what we get to do every day. Due to the location, Guam is one of the World’s best dive locations. On the weekdays, after a long day at work, we go for a quick dive as the sun sets. On the weekends we dive at locations where the water is as clear as the air. We have been able to swim with Manta Rays, tuna, sharks and hundreds of other species of aquatic life. The coral is as colorful as a box of Crayons. The rays of the sun cut through the water like a laser beam, bringing to life a paradise that has to be seen to be believed. Who do I have to thank for this encounter. It is the United States Air Force. While we do work hard, we also play hard. All while living in a paradise, that until now, I could only dream about. Throughout our lives we all face hardships, tough decisions and sadness. But here, even if just for a moment, those issues seem to flow out with the tide. The Air Force has given me a memory to share with family and friends for the rest of my life. This is definitely an amazing place to Live, Work and Play!
