Thriving
   by Crystal P

My Air Force life is filled me with pride and it is humbling. It is the most security I've ever known as well as the most worry (deployment). It has taught me that love can be expressed in the most "unconventional" ways and that they can be part of deeper and stronger bond. That technology can let my family see the babies growing up 3,000 miles away like they were just across town.

I feel like being an Air Force wife has made me stronger, a better wife and mother, and definitely more resourceful. It has educated me on the ins and outs of sending awkward packages, military abbreviations, and how life does indeed go on when you're the only parent running the home while your spouse is working mids.

I am at the point of my life where life couldn't get better unless my flower beds could pass maintenance inspection without any effort on my part and the Commissary carried Goober Grape for my kids. I can't find a reason to complain about military pay because I feel like we are provided for in so many ways that what many consider low pay against services rendered is enough for us. We are nearly debt free and we are secure.

I am so thankful and PROUD that we are an Air Force family and that my husband is working, my children are playing, and that we are living, this incredible Air Force life.
