New Begining
by Angela A
My personal experience in the Air Force has been a short but inspiring one. To understand what I mean, I have to give you information. You see I have two families; I lived with my mother and her family for fifteen years. I moved often, but always within California or Nevada. Now, I am eighteen years old and live with my father, active duty personnel, and his family. I have been with him for almost four years. In those years I have travelled around the world more often than most people. I have grown and matured more than when I wasn’t living this lifestyle. I sincerely wish I had been born into this lifestyle; I would have turned out better and had more credentials in life. I can honestly say that the Air Force life means family and devotion to the Country. It means freedom, the chance to uncover friends all over the world, and the ability to travel and see the world. The things I read in my history books, I live it, I’m there in the ruins. Not many people can say that. I’ve learned that in this life you accumulate certain morals and values that others around you have. The Air Force is a branch of the military based on integrity and motivation. When I see these people it makes me feel safe that they are protecting our Country. So there’s another example of what it means to me, safety. Now that you had a flash from my past, you know I am fortunate. In a few months I will go to college and take what I’ve learned in this lifestyle with me throughout my new beginning. So what does the Air Force life mean to me? Well, it means more to me then you’ll ever know.
